The June 14 and July 12 song circles will be at Cal and Jean Lamoreaux's River House in Middleville. Directions are available on their website (freewebs.com/dancealot/).
The August 9 Circle will be at their Shady Shores cottage, #70 on Dogwood Lane. Folks should park in any un-numbered place - probably right across the street at Gun Lake Chapel. See freewebs.com/dancealot/ for a map. Questions? Cal's cell is (269) 720-6983; Jean's is (616) 293-8666.
Keep singing and enjoy the sunshine!

A Letter from the President

Hello!

The Folk Arts society has recessed its Saturday activities for the summer. As you can see the International dance on 2nd Fridays and 4th Friday
Contras as well as the Song Circle on 2nd Sundays are on going.

One of the best things about our "society" is that we are not a society in the 18th century sense of the word. We are people who like to like to have some fun as we enjoy old favorite genres of entertainment.
These forms draw us in by their authenticity and depth. The venerable tunes and songs along with contemporary seer/visionary song writer/poets, the old fashioned dances and sing a-longs, refresh the soul.
Most of our "society" are busy hard working folk. So, simplicity is always, a breath of fresh air.
We are an open group of friends who like these elemental ideas embodied in song, music and dance.
Please, do come join us for one or all of these events. All are welcome.

Glenn
